  Nicki at DNA just hung up on me after telling me they don't participate in Locks of Love. How rude and insensitive of her!! I specifically checked yelp for a participating salon. You would think Studio DNA would offer a simple "snip" for no charge, all to benefit individuals who have lost their hair to cancer or other life threatening diseases. Also Nicki, please refer to Locks of Love guidelines. They don't just "accept" virigin hair.

  First off, I'm from the Midwest, and after relocating to the Los Angeles area one of my first thoughts was, "Oh crap, where the *%&% am I going to get my haircut?" Coming from the Midwest, I was price and quality oriented. There you can get a great men's haircut for around $35 including tip. I searched, and searched, and searched, and call me thrifty but I don't feel a guy's haircut should ever cost more than $50. So, I set out to find a salon that not only met my price, but also product, expectations. I love Kerastase and Bumble & Bumble, and when I searched for salons that carried both of these products I came across Studio DNA in Santa Monica. After reading the great reviews of the salon, I booked an appointment for the very next day with Tina. Not only was my haircut only $45 (ok ok, a little bit more expensive than I wanted, but I got 20% off for my first visit and gave Tina a tip equivalent to the discount), but I got a great shampoo and deep conditioning, a steam towel treatment, and Tina knew her stuff. I am a very difficult client and I have very difficult hair. I brought in some pictures and explained exactly what I wanted and she created it. It was like seeing an artist at work. She knew right away my hair type and my hair needs, and she gave me a number of tips on how to style it. A fantastic experience that I would recommend to anyone. I haven't tried any of the other stylists, so I can only speak from my visit with Tina, but she was amazing. Highly recommended!
